Missions “GO” Team

TRANSYLVANIA BAPTIST ASSOCIATION

The GO Team’s Mission and Purpose is to assist every TBA church to become an Acts 1:8 church; that is to effectively engage the Unreached in our Jerusalem (our neighborhoods), our Judea (our region and state), our Samaria, (our country), and the remotest parts of the world (places where the Name of Jesus has never been heard).

GO Team Report – July 2019

The GO Team’s Mission and Purpose is to assist every TBA church to become an Acts 1:8 church; that is to effectively engage the Unreached in our Jerusalem (our neighborhoods), our Judea (our region and state), our Samaria, (our country), and the remotest parts of the world (places where the Name of Jesus has never been heard).

This past quarter we helped organize and participate in a prayer walking team to Fort Lauderdale. We supported our partner Steven, by introducing prayer walking and conversational EV in some of the numerous Jewish communities in the Fort Lauderdale area. Steven will be speaking in a TBA church August 25 and we are attempting to arrange a meeting with several pastors and leaders while he is here to introduce opportunities for Kingdom partnership there. There are half a million Jewish people living in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale area who need to hear the Messiah has come!

A couple of GO Team members led a Missions Breakout session at the TBA SENIOR SAINTS CELEBRATION CONFERENCE in June.  The session was entitled “WHY MISSIONS NOW?” Key points were:

  1. AVAILABLE
  • For the most part Seniors have more flexible schedules than other groups of people. We are not limited by jobs, school schedules; etc.
  1. CONVENIENT/EASE
  • Travel has never been easier and facilities are more modern in areas open to missions.
  1. RESCOURCES
  • Again, most seniors are not held captive by debt and have resources which will allow them to participate on mission teams.
  1. EXPERIENCES
  • Seniors have walked with the Lord for years and we have many stories of how He has provided, healed and done exceeding abundantly above all we expected. This is also a great opportunity to share our salvation testimony.
  1. LEGACY
  • We want to finish strong. We want to be an example for our children and grandchildren. We want the Lord to continue to bear fruit through us even after we are with Him.
  1. GIFTEDNESS
  • As a Christian each of us are gifted in unique ways. Some in prayer, some in evangelism, some in encouragement, some in hands on ministry with hurting people; etc.

There are Kingdom workers all over the world who are sending forth a “Macedonian Call” like Paul received in Acts 16.  That is reason enough for “WHY MISSIONS NOW?”
